Adrenal (& RMI)
Hollow Words
|
Bit of a strange one this to be reviewing in the smd catalogue. The opening track 'Hollow Words' is a decent enough everyday pop song with vocals, drums, grungy guitars, and some interesting analogue synth effects.
The same is true of the next two tracks, but it's with the synth effects at the end of the second track 'Turn Away' that something vaguely familiar starts to break through, and the synth touches on 'Byronic Man' suggest that there's more here than meets the eye. If I tell you that track 4 is titled 'Radio Music Intermission' it may give you a clue that Radio Massacre International appear on this CD. RMI supply additional keyboards on tracks 2,3 & 4 but it's the final track (length 4:08) which synth fans will be interested in. An excellent piece which contains more than enough of the RMI trademarks such as sequences and mellotron to keep fans happy. (GG)
