This 1995 album was produced exclusively on the Kurzweil K2000, and is "dedicated to the healing of the heart".
'The Dawning' opens proceedings with floral piano refrains and symphonic synth textures. Emotions build to a climax as booming drum rolls and heavenly choirs supplement the latter section of the piece. The five minute 'Ocean Without Shores' repeats the formula while 'Innocence' and 'Cry of the Heart' adopt a more poignant approach with delicate string synths and, at times, mournful themes.
'Eternal Return' utilises clarinet and guitar voices to produce another thoughtful 11 minute interlude which presents rich orchestral and ethereal textures during the latter stages. The final (and longest at 18 minutes) track 'Rites of Passage' revisits and examines themes aired in the opening track to produce another epic work.
Break out the candleabras and dust off the chandeliers. This is gushing, symphonic and ethereal space music on an expansive scale. This CD should really come with a free box of tissues - but whether they are for wiping away a tear or hiding a yawn only you can decide... (GG)
