Melodically the versions of studio tracks here stay fairly close to the album versions but in the live setting there is more room for the musicians to give it that added feeling. The line up is Gottsching / Ulbrich / Grosskopf and Baltes. All the tracks have a fairly laid back feeling to them but also get into some quite mean grooves. By the time the album had finished I was completely blissed out. We begin with an excellent version of 'Sunrain' the gorgeous pulsations and Harald's tight drumming forming a sumptuous hypnotic brew.

At just under four minutes the lovely simple melody comes in. It works for me every time and is no less effective in this setting than previously. 'Four Guitars' slowly drifts into being on the back of a melodic looped strummed guitar. More tuneful guitar is brought in then yet more but never over cluttering the overall sound. Each addition adding a little to the texture here a little to the melodic quality there. In the eleventh minute the guitars depart momentarily only to return but this time with a subtle difference. An excellent sequence gets 'Hausaufgabe' underway. It gently mutates but continues to provide the backbone of the track around which lovely delicate electronic touches add colour.

A wooded block type sound and guitar are then added giving this already highly pulsating number even more bounce. Drums and cymbals then come in as does a guitar lead line which becomes the main focus of attention. This and the last track are the most powerful sections on the whole album but even so keep a rather chilled feel to them. Around the familiar melody to 'Oasis' a warbling sequence increases and decreases in intensity. Its very nicely done. Ideal music for a lazy summers day.

'Move 9 Up' deploys another excellent sequence. Initially drum and guitar flourishes come and go. The guitar starts to become heavier and the beat more insistent. By three and a half minutes we are starting to rock though melodically things remain very relaxed. Even when the heavy-ish dance type beat is introduced near the end the cool groove is maintained. Nederlandstalige versie

Melodisch gezien leunen de studio tracks hier sterk aan bij de album versies maar live is er voor de muzikanten dus ruimte om dit een bepaald gevoel te geven. Göttsching/Ulbrich/Grosskopf en Baltes zijn van de partij. Het algemeen gevoel is vrij rustig, af en toe gaan ze er toch wel eens stevig tegen aan. Na de eerste beluistering was ik de gelukzaligheid zelve.

We beginnen met het uitstekende "Sunrain", schitterende pulsaties en Harald's strakke drums maken dit tot een hypnotiserend brouwsel. Na ongeveer 4 minuten komt er een schitterende melodie bij. Dit werkt altijd bij mij, dit blijft effectief. "Four Guitars" komt er rustig in met gitaartokkels. Meer en meer gitaar komt er bij maar nooit wordt het een warboel. Elke toevoeging brengt meer en meer verrijking. Rond de elfde minuut verdwijnen de gitaren even om daarna terug te keren, met subtiele verschillen. Een mooie sequence zet "Hausaufgabe" in gang. Deze muteert maar blijft de ruggengraat van de track waarrond delicate elektronische klanken wat kleur brengen. Het geluid van een houten blok en gitaar komen erbij en geven dit toch al zeer energieke nummer nog meer kracht. Dan nog wat drums en cimbalen en een gitaarsolo die alle aandacht vraagt. Deze en de laatste track zijn de krachtigste van het album, toch met een vrij kil gevoel. Met een vertrouwde melodie gaan we naar "Oasis" waar een wervelende sequence constant verandert in intensiteit. Dit is mooi gedaan, de ideale muziek voor zo'n luie zomerdag.
