This is a 500 copy limited edition CD so it is unlikely to be available long. It contains very different live versions of about half of 'For Whom the Bell' and the rest of the music is new.
The live versions from the first CD are much more atmospheric and yet powerful than the studio versions. The samples used are superb as is the guitar playing from their new member Pat Pattison who replaced Nik Smith. The CD really did have the feel of band on the top of their form playing together as a perfect unit. I don't know how much time they had to rehearse before hand but the finished result is certainly impressive.
'For Whom the Bell' was an enjoyable CD but to me I could hear David Wright one moment, Robert Fox the next with the other musicians fitting in with the mood, I have already played this album more than their studio one as the music has over time developed into a character all of its own. The new tracks are particularly impressive. (DL)
