Hoenig & Gottsching
Early Water
|
A track jointly composed and performed back in 1976 by Michael Hoenig and Manuel Göttsching. The sleevenotes describe that in autumn 1976 Manuel was asked to play some dates in France to support the release of 'New Age Of Earth'. He invited Michael to join him, however the tour was cancelled at the last minute leaving this recording of one of their rehearsals as the only tangible evidence of their preparation together.
Now restored to its full glory, what you get is a 50 minute slab of classic Electronic Music. Moogs, Oberheims, ARPs, and the EMS Synthi A all make an appearance throughout the constantly pulsating piece. The music shifts and mutates as layer after layer is revealed, the sequences an ever present backdrop to synth harmonics and effects with melody often taking a back seat to sequential rhythm. If you are a fan of NODE, RMI, AirSculpture or 70's TD then this is essential. (GG)
