Pegasus
Electro Physics
A bright flute lead line plays over cosmic warblings. The melody then develops into a sequence using an all together different voice and a heavy rhythm is added complimented by a very deep bass drum. The track is called ‘Ion Dance’ and it certainly is an energetic affair. ‘X- ray’ consists of a very good sequence and a heavy rhythm, the level of bass again being thunderous. Pegasus serve up music which has both feet firmly placed in the 90’s, dance influences are there but the melodic quality brings it head and shoulders above most dance albums. Synthetik fans could also find much to enjoy in this album ‘Yoshiwara’ combines a shuffling rhythm with superb sequential and lead motifs to create a very infectious number that certainly got me bopping all over the office, brilliant track.

‘Feel to Music’ is a rather oriental sounding track but still full of energy. ‘Children of the City’ is a relatively relaxed number compared to what has gone before, but very pleasant, allowing us to come down from its dynamic predecessors. ‘Metropolis Station’ gets back into rhythmic mode but with a tinkling sequence backing everything. The track still has dance influences but less prominent than on the opening numbers. ‘Friendship 7’ pulsates into life, the rhythms developing and becoming more strident as we get further in. How the rhythms combine, stop and start is particularly impressive and ensure that there is never a dull moment. The title track is next, maintaining the high standard already set and keeps those feet in a constant state of movement. ‘Moonlit Tower’ , as could be expected by its title, is another laid back number as is the final track ‘Lonely Streets’ but they still have much of interest and finish a great album of in fine fashion.
