Enough about the side issues, what about the music? In common with 'Map reference' K2Project opens with a completely awesome show-case of divine EM melodics. The approach is unique and attention to detail staggering. 'K2' is an uptempo piece with some deft touches and a catchy melody. Somehow this track sounds "beneath" Stephan however. It's too predictable and safe, though the Hammond solo is superb - and perhaps I'm trying to read too much into what is a vibrant jam session. 'Voyager' features an impeccable moog solo and more great sequential riffs, preparing the ground perfectly for the magnificent 'Perpetual Winter' which show-cases sublime piano melodics and some mouth watering Yamaha CS80 synth leads.

At just under 12 minutes 'Arcturus' is the longest piece and again combines clever and infectious motifs with some sensational sequence packets which fulfil melodic as well as rhythmic duties with equal success. This is a multilayered masterpiece with more twists and turns than a white knuckle funfair ride. 'Burn' certainly comes as a surprise. Distorted vocals, bass laden slow beat, strange effects. 'The Dreamer' is however bristling with Stephan Whitlan synth brilliance and it really is a catchy 5 minute gem.

'FrostBite' cranks up the sequences again, an edgier piece with attitude and plenty to keep the interest levels high. It builds superbly to a midpoint "timeout" which increases the melodic angle before embarking on more rhythmic magnificence. Possibly the pick of the album. The album ends with 'Illegal Data' which again serves up plenty to entertain.
