This 1996 album features no less than nine guest musicians playing instruments ranging from saxes and clarinet to vibraphone and violin. There is no doubt that the bulk of the music on this album is designed for late night listening. The opener 'Frieden' features wispy melodies accompanied by a slow steady rhythm, while 'Park Louise' is a walk through careful themes and delicate romance. 'Nice to have Met You' opens with piano doodles which give way to emotional sax accompanied by synth and the aforementioned vibraphone. Seven out of the nine remaining tracks follow the same laid back formula, but surprisingly track 6 'Fly Me Home' is a complete contrast with pulsing sequences and some (relatively) powerful synth playing creating a pleasing piece. The other uptempo number is the closing track 'Gute Laune' which is described as "happy music" and is apparently his live encore "so often requested by my real fans". The mind boggles. (GG)
