Some of the best tracks on this album make use of sequences but its the delicate way they are used, the sounds chosen and the use of subtle melodic detail that most impresses. The instantly likable 'Cocoon', 'Vacuum' and 'Suffix' are all irresistible examples of this style. The last of these being somewhat a darker twist on the formula. Its as if you are being lifted into the sky, floating amongst the clouds. Some tracks rely on soft pads and appropriate sounds and effects to form the necessary images. 'Deep Water' for instance with its feeling of float and the crystalline sounding 'Freezing'.

One track however is far from relaxing - the sequences on the thirteen minute 'Scaling the Moon' being given that extra umph and allowed to let rip, combining together to create a powerful pulsating wall of syncopated magic. What's more they become more intense as the number progresses. 'Moment' and the second longest track (at almost ten minutes) 'Sundust' keep threatening to be equally dynamic as sequences and rhythms form and gain energy but then subside amongst highly expressive pads. They are like dreams where the mind lingers momentarily on an image before going to the next and then yet another. Some of the images being exciting others tranquil or even disturbing.

The rhythmic side of Hardy Kukuk is demonstrated on 'e-motion' , 'Performer' and 'Way to India' where we bounce along nicely but without becoming too strident- melody again playing the major role. The last of these hardly surprisingly using tablas and other 'ethnic' touches. So we have a few different approaches here but they all have a certain 'style' which comes from how the sounds are combined. The running order is picked very well and the tracks go together to form an album that works as a whole and not just on a number by number basis. I found it highly enjoyable and rather unique, ploughing its own furrow somewhere between ambient atmospherics coming from most US artists at the moment and sequencer based music coming from much of Europe. De beste tracks van dit album maken gebruik van sequences, maar het is de delicate manier waarop ze gebruikt worden, de gekozen klanken en de subtiele melodische details die het meest indruk maken. De nummers "Cocoon", "Vacuum" en "Suffix" zijn hier voorbeelden van. De laatste van deze drie is een ietwat donkerder nummer, met dezelfde formule. Het is alsof je wordt opgetild en gaat drijven op de wolken. Sommige tracks steunen op zachte klanken en genoeg effecten om je verbeelding te prikkelen, zoals "Deep Water", welk een drijvend gevoel geeft, alsook het kristalheldere "Freezing".

"Scaling the Moon" daarentegen is vrij ver van relaxerend te noemen. Dit stuk duurt 13 minuten en zit boordevol sterke sequences - syncopatische magie, welke nog sterker worden naarmate het nummer verder vordert. "Moment" en de tweede langste track "Sundust" (bijna 10 minuten), bestaan hoofdzakelijk uit evoluerende sequences, gecombineerd met klanklandschappen. Deze zijn zoals een droom waarin je geest van de éne gedachte naar de andere overgaat. Sommige van deze gedachten zijn boeiend, andere rustgevend of zelfs verstorend. Hardy laat zijn ritmische kant zien (horen) in "e-motion", "Performer" en "Way to India". Ritme zonder overheersend te worden, de melodie blijft de hoofdrol spelen. De laatste van deze drie maakt gebruik van, hoe kan het ook anders, tabla's en andere etnische klanken.
