We begin 'Tethys_drone' with gorgeous warm pads. It brought up rainforest images which were heightened further when faintly ethnic drumming was introduced. The overall feel was however, as with most of this album, very relaxed. 'The e – bow' also started as a floater but this time sounding much more aquatic. Half heard vocal effects present near the beginning disappearing to be replaced by subtle sonic colouring.

After a couple of minutes percussion and sparing use of rhythm combine to give some structure whilst still retaining a very relaxed atmosphere. The feeling is again warm and comfortable rather than sparse and foreboding. 'Moon_down' is another gently rhythmic number backed with some nice gentle synth washes, the sound of waves being heard low in the mix. Subtle percussive loops slowly evolve as lovely little melodies shimmer through from time to time like the flickering reflection of light from water. 'Flatlines' begins with what sounds like a choir muffled by distance, lush pads floating around it. More vocal samples are added near the end. Simply beautiful stuff. 'Phiyang' is another relaxed piece with looped percussion but this time with an Oriental feel. A low bass beat can be heard from the fourth minute which got my head nodding but was in no way forceful. Sympathetic guitar touches were added a little later though things still remain relaxed. 'Flinx' provides another couple of minutes of warm float backed by gentle percussion. Initially this mood continues with little change on 'Nectaris' but with the addition of bird sound. With less than two minutes in however an excellent sequence starts up and becomes the main focus. It is the most upbeat track on the album so far but doesn't completely shatter the mood.

'Sun_day' uses similar backing pads to the rest of the album but the percussion has a more 'edgy' quality giving a slightly uneasy feel. Sequences return big style for the tantalizingly titled 'Phaedra_2_K' and basically sounds like the boys having fun paying homage to Tangerine Dream. 'H@llucinogene' is actually quite a happy rhythmic number which reminded me a little of Ashra but with the addition of some unintelligible distorted vocal samples. 'Magnesium' starts with some deep bass notes over which floats a slow crystalline sequence. Again it's all very relaxing. 'Rhea' combines a collage of sounds and effects with more of those warm pads found mainly on the first half of the album but as with 'Sun_day' a slightly edgy unsettling atmosphere is created, especially with the distorted vocal samples near the end. 'Smyth II' has something of a sacred feel to it due to wordless choir sounds. Out of this emerges a restrained rhythmic loop / sequence combination contrasting with a short Eastern vocal before letting the pulsations fully take centre stage. On 'Glockenraum' we again luxuriate in some lovely soft drones but this time with the faint sound or rain and running water in the background. Percussion is added in the second half but it doesn't alter the mood too much. This is one of my favourite ambient albums in a long time. It never just relies on over indulgent float, there is always something going on. For the most part however (apart from on two of the sequencer based tracks) the mood is relaxed and usually warm (a word I have used a lot in this review) though always with intriguing undercurrents. Nederlandstalige versie

We beginnen "Tethys Drone" met mooie warme tapijtjes. Deze riepen bij mij beelden op van het regenwoud, die nog versterkt werden als er een verre etnische drum geïntroduceerd werd. Het algemene gevoel is er één van ontspanning. De e-bow begon ook vrij drijvend en klonk later wat wateriger. Half hoorbare stemmen, vanaf het begin aanwezig, verdwijnen en worden vervangen door subtiele klankbewegingen. Na enkele minuten komt er percussie en wat spaarzaam ritme bij, zodanig gecombineerd dat ze de rustige atmosfeer bewaren. Dit alles klinkt warm en geeft een comfortabel gevoel. "Moon_down" is ook een rustig ritmisch nummer, gedragen door synthklanken en het geruis van de zee op de achtergrond. Subtiele percussieve loops evolueren traagjes en af en toe steekt er een melodietje de kop op, als reflecties op het water. "Flatlines" begint met wat een gedempt koor blijkt te zijn, bijgestaan door weelderige tapijten. Tegen het einde aan komen er nog meer vocalen bij.

Erg mooi. "Phiyang" is weer een relaxerend stuk met geloopte percussie, deze keer wat Oosters aandoend. Rond de vierde minuut wordt er een diepe basbeat gehoord die mijn hoofd zachtjes deed meebewegen – zonder te krachtdadig te zijn. Ook de nu ingebrachte gitaren houden het gevoel erg relaxed. "Flinx" brengt ons ook enkele minuten ontspanning, ondersteund door fijne percussie. De stemming blijft behouden op "Nectaris", er komen hier wel vogelgeluiden bij. Met minder dan twee minuten te gaan begint er een uitstekende sequence en deze trekt dan alle aandacht. Dit is het meest upbeat nummer van de CD maar doet toch niets af aan de stemming. "Sun_day" gebruikt gelijkaardige achtergrondpaden als op de rest van het album maar de percussie heeft een scherper kantje en geeft soms een wat onbehaaglijk gevoel. Een sterke sequence op het nummer met de uitdagende titel "Phaedra_2_K" en dit klinkt alsof de jongens de grootste vreugde hadden met dit eerbetoon aan TD. "H@llucinogene" is eigenlijk een vrolijk ritmisch nummer dat me aan Ashra deed denken, doch met toevoeging van enkele onverstaanbare stemsampels. "Magnesium" start met diepe basnoten waarover zich een kristallijne sequence spint. Nog steeds allemaal erg relaxerend. "Rhea" combineert een collage van klanken en effecten met nog meer van deze warme tapijtjes zoals op het eerste gedeelte van de CD, maar ook zoals op "Sun_day" hebben we hier te maken met een licht onbehaaglijk gevoel, zeker de vervormde stemmen tegen het einde aan, dragen hiertoe bij.
