Zazen
Surfing the Himalayas
|
Ah, things are becoming a bit clearer now. Joaquin Liévano is the guitarist from the band Zazen who also include Steve Kaplan on keyboards and Andy West on guitars. And there's an author called Frederick Lenz who uses the music as inspiration for his best selling novels. Or vica versa. And there's also someone called Rama - but I don't know how he/she fits in. May even be Frederick Lenz's pseudonym. Hope this clarifies things!
Anyway, what I do know is that this is a compilation, selected by Frederick Lenz, to accompany his novel Surfing the Himalayas. It consists of tracks taken from three Zazen albums, and from the Liévano solo album. There are also two tracks unavailable elsewhere. Musically it's very much in the territory of 'Ecologie' with quality guitar work interplaying with fine keyboards. Those comfortable with this style will be impressed. (GG)
