(Excerpt from track 'Ha'penny Bridge')
Now then, fancy something to stretch your perception of what RMI are about? Then try this, an uncompromising collage of electronic atmospheres which will have you dusting off your copy of 'Zeit' for a little light relief. Two tracks date from 1996, the first piece 'Ha'penny Bridge' being famous for its MTV appearance when RMI "did" The Party Zone, The thought of RMI upstaging what is essentially a dance programme and presenting a set completely bereft of rhythm will have broad smiles appearing spontaneously.

If you have a touch over 52 minutes to spare you could do a lot worse than sitting back and listening to track 2 'Dante's View'. Actually, the word "track" does this electronic dynasty an injustice. It's epic in terms of scale and aspiration, and the guitar refrains especially portray a haunting mood which extends the sonic experience still further.

Finally we have the title track, which dates from 1980. If you do happen by this piece of the Californian Desert and have this track handy, one warning - take a sun hat. The marriage of landscape and music can be intoxicating, as Steve apparently found.

16 years separate the pieces of this album yet they do fit together hand-in-glove. This is an uncompromising band in uncompromising form. I've a feeling many fans will hail this as their best. (GG)
